Swedish Massage
Full body relaxation through rhythmic, flowing motions. The term "Swedish Massage" refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.
Clinical Massage
Swedish Massage (full body relaxation) with focused, deeper intent on "problem" and/or "sore" muscles (trigger points and referred discomfort). Great for fibromyalgia, lateral/medial epicondylitis (tennis/golfers elbow), hips, and upper and lower back discomfort.
Hot Stone Massage
Smooth, flat stones (Basalt) are heated then both placed on the body (along the spine, on the toes, and elsewhere) as well as used actively in the massage by the therapist. The heat warms and relaxes the muslces, allowing the therapist to apply more pressure. The warmth of the stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system. Many people choose Hot Stone Massage because they find the warmth and the use of stones relaxing, however it is also excellent for treating the following conditions: back pain, poor circulation, stress, anxiety, tension, arthritis, insomnia, and depression. Hot Stone Massage can be alternated with Cold Stones to intensify the experience and more effectively detox the body.
Cold Stone Massage (Coming to Solace in November!)
Very similar in nature to a Hot Stone Massage, Cold Stone Massage involves pre-cooled, smooth Marble stones integrated into the massage by your therapist as well as placed on your body. Cold stones are excellent for decreasing muscle swelling and soreness (resulting from overuse) and certain types of muscle injuries and tendonitis. Cold stones refresh and invigorate the mind and body, soothe irritation, and relieve tissue congestion. They have been known to alleviate anxiety, improve circulation, reduce high blood pressure, and revitalize energy levels. Cold Stone Massage can be alternated with Hot Stones to intensify the experience.

Reflexology
The science that deals with the principles that there are reflexes in the feet relative to every organ, gland, and part of the body. Reflexology helps to balance the functions of the body and remove uric acid through specific techniques performed on the feet. A reflexology session should last about 30 minutes. It can also be combined with a full body massage and last 60-90 minutes.
Polarity Therapy
Locates and releases energy blocks, stimulating the life energy to flow freely through hands-on techniques, promoting balance and harmony within the energy field and the physical body. This encourages the organs, glands, and tissues of the body to normalize their functions, and creates an environment where healing can take place naturally. Polarity therapy can be integrated into any massage session.
Prenatal Massage
Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.
Swedish Massage is the recommended prenatal massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts during pregnancy.

The benefits include improved circulation, improved sensory awareness, lengthened sleep for baby, improved digestion, and enhanced neurological development. When mom or dad takes over the massage, it becomes a powerful bonding experience between parent and child.
Couples Massage
Couples massage is for two people in one room: on two separate tables and with two therapists. Fun and relaxed or romantic, couples massage is great for friends, sisters, mothers and daughters, or actual couples.

The main goal of the therapy is to improve the health and functioning of the body as a whole by correcting any imbalances of the musculoskeletal system.
